Hi, welcome to our May edition of of our monthly newsletter
We have two new members of staff, Jenny Baker who has joined us as a Living Well Connector and James Long who is the new Community Sports Worker. We welcome them into the fold and wish them all the very best in their new roles here at DIAL. We also have Ben Holland-Smith who was part of the Building Better Opportunities project through East Coast College now taking up a change of role as a Multi Disciplinary Support Worker under the Neighbourhood That Works project, and again we wish him well in his new role.
We are still advertising vacancies for Specialist Support Worker and Multi Disciplinary Support Worker details below, the closing dates for these roles have been extended until 8th May with interviews being held week commencing 13th May, so get those applications in so as not to miss a great opportunity:-
Multi-Disciplinary Worker DIAL Great Yarmouth
Hours: 37 per week Salary: £22,200 pa
Fixed term contract until 30.09.2020
This is a 2 year extension to the Big Lottery Funded Project working collaboratively with Partners and local communities to transform the way services are delivered as part of Great Yarmouth’s Neighbourhoods That Work (NTW) Programme.
The key elements of the role will be to provide relevant and timely advice to people who face complicated life challenges, working collaboratively with communities to embed first step support at neighbourhood level. The post holder will work alongside a Support Worker, together they will work as part of a NTW team that supports the join-up of local services and which recognises and responds to the strengths of local people and their communities.
The post holder will work closely with the NTW programme and other local agencies. This will ensure that the provision of specialist and community-based support is integrated, reducing confusion amongst vulnerable people who are trying to access the programme, and making it easier for other partners, projects and outreach teams to work with the NTW programme.
Specialist Support Worker DIAL Great Yarmouth
Hours: 25.5 hours a week
Term: Fixed Term Contract (Fixed term contract until December 2019 – with possibility of extension)
Salary: 15160.00 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen at DIAL for a Specialist Support Worker to join our Building Better Opportunities funded Norfolk Community College project. Norfolk Community College project is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.
This high proﬁle project will work with local communities so that adults who are furthest away from the labour market can overcome barriers preventing their involvement in further education, training and employment. This programme aims to make positive contribution to New Anglia LEP’s objective to promote social inclusion and combat poverty.
Norfolk Community College project is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund. The Norfolk Community College project is a partnership led by East Coast College with Access Community Trust, DIAL, Future Project and Voluntary Norfolk.

Citizens Advice Norfolk have now settled into the DIAL office on a Tuesday 12-3.30pm, giving support for new claims, from opening accounts to receiving the first full payment. So if you are in need of making a Universal Credit claim please come along for some help and advice.

East Coast College have started their English classes with tutor Catherine. Tuesdays 1.30pm til 3pm and Fridays 9.30am til 11.30am. Anyone wishing to join please come along to see what its all about. See posters for info on East Coast College courses. Also we still have ESOL classes here Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30am til 12.30pm with tutor Alex.
Great Yarmouth & Waveney MIND have made themselves at home here in the DIAL building and are here to provide support around mental health issues. For all enquiries please call MIND on 01493 842129.
The Social Blooms project through The Green Light Trust which sadly came to an end last month provided a great support to gardening volunteers and more funding is hoped to be sourced to provide something similar in the future.

This was our Easter window display, a work in progress at the moment
Norwich Credit Union are here Mondays 1-4pm and extra hour has been added due to demand, and Fridays 10-12.30pm providing advice to anyone having trouble with opening a Bank account or just wanting to save for a rainy day or to simply pay the bills.
Our Craft Club is held on a Thursday 10-3.30pm for those of you who enjoy crafts and being creative. Just come along to see what its all about and maybe join in and meet new people. Below is just some of the things that have been created within the Craft Club.
Route 9-5 cafe is still ongoing for the moment and being held at DIAL alternate Thursdays 10am-12pm. For those who have been out of work for some time and would like help getting back into employment or volunteering. Anyone wishing to join in please come along to see what its all about.
